Oh, I forgot this cute quilt

When in Gatlinburg I usually visit a quilt shop in Cosby, TN. I had a delightful time visiting with the owner while Sonny rocked in the rocking chair on the front porch. I saw this panel quilt and loved it. We had seen a bear and also the spring flowers popping out on the mountain. So I just had to make the quilt. The sashing I chose looked just like the green trees on the mountains. I have no place to hang it and display it so it resides on my back porch folded on a rocking chair where I can enjoy it.  The quilt still brings a smile.

What I worked on today

I am getting back to sewing, but only to make lounging pajama bottoms, so I can teach in a sewing class. I know why I do not sew. I do not like sewing clothes. Just not my thing at this season of my life. I would rather quilt and machine embroidery—pictures coming soon.

Here is a picture of my Rebels lounging pajama bottoms. I honestly could not find a piece of fabric to my liking. So saw this fabric perfect for football watching the Rebels play. My mother-in-law would love these pajama bottoms. She was a true Rebel. These were fun  I need to do some tweeting but think I will enjoy making these. Pattern takes 2.5 to 3 yards of fabric but can be made in one day.

April 2024

Baby Quilts and a perfect little vacation to Gatlinburg and Biltmore where the dogwoods bloom all over the mountains and the amazing azaleas blooming at Biltmore.

For sweet little great niece, Monty, I made this quilt with soft pinks and border is lavender with roses, perfect for this quilt.

Bears seen at Cade’s Cove

This quilt was made for another precious grand niece, Charlie. Wish I had a good camera and light to take picture. I think both quilts were lovely colors.

Oh the glorious dogwoods in the mountains.

Below, see the bear at Cade’s Cove.

And the tulips at Biltmore.
