Picture Overload

Oh, I have been gone a while. My husband and I have moved from the country to the city about 80 miles distance. We sold our home and land and RV Park. We moved to the city and we love it here. We love our church and all the new people we have met. We have had a wonderful Christmas season beginning with all the Christmas cantatas. Today, we enjoyed my niece's Christmas program. My great niece was Baby Jesus. She was so good and my heart just was about to burst with thankfulness.

I have made a couple of quilts since moving to my new home. I have a nice big room upstairs for all my quilting stuff. I could spend all day, everyday in my studio. Sonny has a new deer camp that is within an hour from here and has enjoyed running up there for an afternoon. We are so happy in our new home.

The first quilt is for a raffle for my granddaughters. One or two are raising money for a trip to Spain. They asked if I would make two quilts. This is the first one. The pictures do not do the quilt justice. It is really a fun quilt.

The second quilt was for my sweet great niece born early this year. It is a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. I just love Sunbonnet Sue quilts. The first Sunbonnet Sue quilt I saw was when I was in elementary school and my friend had quilts on all the beds in her house--one being a Sunbonnet Sue.

Wanted to post a photo of my granddaughter's shirt. I used Circut and heat press on the polyester to add their names and it did beautifully. I also replaced the buttons with medal snaps. These are some talented young ladies.

Here are a couple of Christmas projects. Christmas pillow made using my Bernina embroidery machine and Bernina machine to complete pillow.

I just had to make this crooked Christmas Tree. I tried to sew the binding with the sewing machine and did not like it as much as my regular binding method.

My dining table and new Amazing Grace canvas. Some of my kitchen is in the background.

My living room. Taken before Christmas decorations were added.

And that is all for tonight.
Good night, all.

Jelly Roll Quilt Along Quilt

Well, here is my completed "Jelly Roll Quilt Along" quilt. I really had fun with the quilt along. I enjoyed seeing every one's completed block since each person chose their own fabric. The variations were amazing. Then when these ingenious people began posting their completed quilts, I was in awe. I am one who "colors within the lines" and follows directions. Well, some of the ladies used different layouts and made an entirely different looking quilt. I could just see some of these quilts in the quilt magazines.

I hesitate posting my quilt on Flicker Jelly Roll group with all those beautiful quilts. It is a bit "loud" and greeen. Also, I was reading a discussion group on the Internet and several stated very definite opinions on how they disliked batiks. This is my first time to even purchase batiks, but I just loved the colors in the jelly roll as it appeared on the Internet. So here I am with a loud, batik quilt--but I like it. It is mine and I will enjoy it. Every time I make a quilt, I am asked, "Whose quilt is this one?" This, again, it is my quilt. I bet my grandchildren won't mine playing on it. So here's the quilt.

Oh, I used the left over strips from the jelly roll to make the binding. I love the way the binding looks.

Jelly Roll Quilt Blocks --

Jelly Roll Quilt Along -- last blocks. I finished the last three block for the Jelly Roll Quilt Along. This was fun and, hopefully, will get it put together shortly.

I promise these blocks are square. The problem is my picture taking.

Jelly Roll Quilt Along

Here are a few more blocks to my Jelly Roll Quilt Along. I am behind on my blocks but will catch up soon. The last block (Block 12) will be out on Monday. Hopefully, I will be caught up by then. I am now making a prayer quilt. I completed the top today and will quilt it on Thursday. Hope I have a picture to post.

Cannot catch a pretty day to take a picture.

Jelly Roll Quilt Block 7--looks like a Christmas Block.

Jelly Roll Quilt Block 8--I think this is yelling at me.

Jelly Roll Quilt Along Block 5

Here is Block 5 of the Jelly Roll Quilt Along. I was determined to use a red strip. I had a difficult time trying to decide what other material to use. The block always looks so different to me then when auditioning the fabrics.

Jelly Roll Quilt Blocks

I really got a late start on the Jelly Roll Quilt but have caught up and want to share my blocks.

I am using a fabric called Island Batik. I selected it because I just like the colors. As I made these blocks I used a color wheel, but not sure it helped. I am color challenged. I guess I am a visual person and need colored pictures as I work.

This is block 1.

Block 5 will be posted later this month.

Jelly Roll Quilt Along

I just ordered my material for the Jelly Roll Quilt Along from The Fat Quarter Shop. I could not wait to undo the fabric and then wanted to make it a jelly roll again. That did not work. I just wanted to make pictures as I quilt along. This is my first step.
